Went to a benefit concert last night for the Korogwe Project. The project team is leaving for Korogwe, Tanzania this Friday and we went last night to send the crew off in a big way from the Forza Coffee house in Gig Harbor, WA. The evening was a wonderful mix of music, wine, multi-media and all around nice people.
I’ve been supporting one of the team members, Jesse Uddenberg, for quite a while and I hope he has a wonderful trip. He’s a college student who has a heart for service and an intense desire to be a better photographer. I’ve been heading out with Jesse periodically over these last six months to take photos, talk about Africa, and work through logistics.
The project team will be based in the Korogwe region of Tanzania, Africa, which is in the Northeastern part of the country. They’ll be on site for two months to help develop better ways for rural farmers to get their goods to market. Their whole purpose is to make it more efficient for locals to get their produce to the big city, so much of their time will be spent assessing how goods are transported from point A to point B.
