Pilots Merging Airplanes and Photography

Posted August 14th, 2012 by   |  Photography, Travel  |  Permalink

Over the years I’ve come to know a great many pilots who regularly combine their love of photography with their airplanes. This year, two friends have taken off on epic photo journeys around North America and I thought it would be great to share their adventures with you.

The first is a trip by Norm who flew his Cessna 340A airplane around the Pacific NW and into Eastern Washington to experience some good ‘ol WSU Cougar Pride. His photos are here: http://www.nsapc.com/northwest/

The second is Bern Heimos who is currently flying his Piper J3 Cub on the “Chart and Compass” tour. See his daily updates here: http://www.vintageflying.com

I love how both Norm and Bern are pushing their photography to new levels by combining two of their passions. It sure does inspire me to keep active with my photography. Some questions for you:

– What are your passions?
– How does photography fit into your other passions?
– Where are you presenting your photos so other people can be inspired as well?

Keep shooting my friends.
